Headquartered in Atchison, Kansas, MGP started as a one-plant operation in the heart of America's grain belt in 1941. Founder Cloud L. Cray, Sr., felt the company's Midwest location and Midwestern values were important as a base to grow a successful business serving the needs of its customers. From its modest roots, MGP has evolved to become an innovative multi-faced leader in the development, production and marketing of naturally-derived specialty ingredients and alcohol products.
Today, MGP maintains facilities in the heart of the U.S.A. These include the corporate offices and an integrated protein, starch and alcohol plant in Atchison, Kansas, and a distillery production facility in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
In addition, MGP has arrangements with joint venture manufacturing partners in the U.S. and Europe to complement the Company's own production capabilities and further satisfy customers' supply needs.
